Privacy and cookies

This is a personal website, built and maintained by me, Alex Matias. It has no ads, sells no data and uses no third-party advertising cookies. Here is everything it stores or sends, and why.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to know how many people visit the site, which pages are viewed the most and where visits come from (search, LinkedIn etc.). It only runs if you click "Accept" in the cookie notice; until then the Google script isn't even loaded.

  • Cookies set, only after you accept: _ga and _ga_5P9ZC1D2DD, which last up to 2 years and are used to count visits without counting the same person twice.
  • What Google receives: pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, language and approximate region. I don't send names, emails or message contents.
  • Advertising features are turned off (Google Consent Mode v2 with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied).
  • The data is processed by Google, including outside Brazil. See Google's privacy policy.

Change your choice

You can accept or decline at any time. If you decline after accepting, the _ga cookies are deleted from this site.

Contact form

The form in the contact section is sent through FormSubmit, a service that forwards the message to my email. It sends your name, email, title and message, only when you click send. I use this data only to reply to you; it isn't added to any mailing list or shared with anyone else.

The site stores three preferences in your browser's localStorage. They aren't cookies and aren't sent anywhere:

  • tema: light or dark theme, if you changed it.
  • idioma: Portuguese or English, if you picked one.
  • consentimento: your answer to the cookie notice.

To remove them, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any server, logs technical request data (IP address, browser, requested page) for security and operation. I don't use these logs to identify anyone.

Your rights (LGPD)

Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018), you can ask what data of yours I hold, and have it corrected or deleted. Since the only personal data that reaches me is what you send through the contact section, just write to me using the form or the email shown there.
